"Writing in the World" Lecture Series

Upcoming Speaker: Dr. Carla Keyvanian, March 30

Keyvanian received her Ph.D. in Architectural History from MIT. Her first professional degree is from the Istituto Universitario Architettura in Venice, and she holds a Science Master’s in Architecture, also from MIT. Before coming to Auburn, she was a Paul Mellon Fellow and then a research associate at the Center for the Advanced Study of the Visual Arts of the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. She taught at MIT, the University of Connecticut, and in numerous architecture programs in Rome. She has published several articles and is currently completing a book on the Medieval and Renaissance architecture of Rome. Here at Auburn, she teaches and coordinates the history courses for the School of Architecture.

All Writing in the World lectures take place at 3pm in Student Center Room 2225.

Writing in the World Series

As a part of the “Writing in the World Series,” Auburn University features three seminars that cover the topic of how to write professionally. The lectures feature renowned Auburn affiliates. The speakers include Dr. Fred Kam, Director of the Auburn University Student Health Center; Thom Gossom, actor, author, and AU alum; and Dr. Carla Keyvanian, Auburn University School of Architecture.

Through attending these lectures, students will gain valuable tools on how to write professionally. Students will also get the chance to network with important individuals in their field of interest. The lectures will be held at 3 p.m. in the student center, room 2225. Everyone is invited to attend.

The series is sponsored by the Office of University Writing, English Graduate Association, Auburn Student Writing Council, and the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts and Humanities.
