Incoming Freshmen

Entering freshmen who demonstrate the potential for outstanding academic achievement are eligible to apply to the Honors College. For Fall 2013, minimum requirements to be considered for admission are 1) a high school grade point average of 3.75, 2) an ACT score of 29 or an SAT score of 1290 (not including the Writing portion), and 3) the submission of a written essay.

Honors College application information is mailed in October, November, and December to qualified students who have been accepted for admission to Auburn University. The deadline for completion of the Honors College application is January 15. Selection of incoming freshmen is based on GPA, ACT/SAT scores, evidence of candidates' activities and leadership, and the content included in the required Honors essay. Students, who meet the minimum requirements but have not received an invitation to apply to the Honors College by the first week of January, should contact the Honors College Office at (334) 844-5860.

Current Auburn Students

Students currently enrolled at Auburn who have a 3.4 cumulative unadjusted grade point average may also be considered for admission. Interested students should contact the Honors College Office (844-5860) for more information.

Transfer Students

Students who have been accepted for transfer to Auburn University with a 3.4 cumulative unadjusted grade point average may also be considered for admission. Interested students should contact the Honors College Office at (334) 844-5860 for more information.
