Welcome to Auburn University Adaptive Recreation and Athletics. We are a campus organization developing extracurricular activities for students, faculty, and staff with disabilities. We currently have students competing in wheelchair basketball and wheelchair tennis. We are also providing opportunities to members of the local community.
Our mission is to offer equal recreation and athletic opportunities to students, faculty, and staff with disabilities at Auburn University while promoting health, wellness, and disability awareness to all.
The Office of Accessibility embraces the philosophy that students with disabilities are, in fact, students with abilities who encounter social and environmental barriers.
We believe disability is a fundamental element of diversity and value the unique experiences each student with a disability brings to the Auburn Family.
Our mission is to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and community to reduce these barriers, creating a more usable, accessible campus and learning environment. To achieve this goal we utilize reasonable academic accommodations, assistive technology, support services, and student, faculty, and staff training.
We believe that all people, regardless of age, race, religion, creed, gender, or disability should have access to the joys and benefits of physical activity.
